Thanks for the response! I've been pretty busy with vacations lately, I put the bad flash incident out of mind.

Archos hackers ROCK!!

Thanks for all your hard work.

-Mike

PS I didn't get a personal e-mail, but no worries.

Ah, there you are, misflasher #2. You have been very quiet about it. I answered you posting, later tried to email you, no response.

My answer was here: http://rockbox.haxx.se/mail/archive/rockbox-archive-2003-08/0625.shtml

My sourcecode package contains the now user-friendly program to UART-flash, called "RockFlash.exe": http://joerg.hohensohn.bei.t-online.de/archos/flash/flash_sourcecode.zip

Pictures of my recorder uart boot mod are here, an article is overdue: http://joerg.hohensohn.bei.t-online.de/archos/uart_boot/

For FM PCB revision 2.1, you find the serial at a kind of empty 2*3 header position close to the headphone jack. RX is the square pad, TX is across. The 4*10k pullup array which you temporarily have to change into a pulldown is right below the flash chip.
